How to get what you want by thinking about it

It’s true that what your mind dwells upon becomes real. So be careful what it is you think about on a daily basis. Most of us don’t realize when we are thinking negative thoughts or about the things we don’t want to experience.

To manifest into your life a new car, job, friends, money or soul mate or just about anything else you need to think about those things on a regular basis. Some of us call it daydreaming! When you daydream you imagine and see in your minds eye the things you want and that makes you crave them.

When meditating next time try manifesting one thing you really want to have into your life. When you are in alpha state and really relaxed, include the following sequence:

1. State you dream, really see it in clear detail, including colour, sound, movement and smell if there is one.
2. State the reason for this, what would change
3. imagine how you would feel different and even act differently if this was already in your life.
4. Give thanks in advance for this gift you are getting. A simple “thank you” is enough.

Knowing what it is you want is not always easy. It might be a new car, to loose weight or more money, but until you are absolutely certain of which car, how many pounds or kilos and how much money exactly you are only half way there.

Set you goals high and dare to dream. Remember that it doesn't matter how much you are asking for as long as you believe that you can have it and that you know deep down inside that you will. You see it, smell it, feel it in your bones. If this belief and the knowing is not there, getting a person familiar with EFT or NLP to help you can do wonders. It can rid you of limiting beliefs and get you thinking like a child again that knows that anything is possible!

Do you like to meditate?

I recently started meditating every day. The benefits are enormous. A session of 15 minutes is said to equal 2-3 hours of sleep. Meditating is one of the best tools we have to calm the mind and learn how to focus. You don’t have to meditate for long at a time just 5-10 minutes. If you do have time to spare 15 min twice a day is ideal.

Find a quiet spot and sit comfortably in a chair with arms and legs uncrossed. Don’t allow anything to disturb you. Close your eyes and tell yourself that you will be back to a conscious level in 15 min. Focus on your breathing, breathe all the way down to your stomach. Count slowly backwards from 50 to 1. This will help you focus and clear your mind. When you are down to one and you have managed to exclude everything else from your mind just sit and “be” for a while. If a thought pops into your mind gently let it go. Count from 1 to 5 when you want to come out of the meditation and upon reaching 5 you will open your eyes, feeling completely refreshed and alert. Sit for a minute or two before starting to move and go about your activities.

Another very powerful thing you can do while in this relaxed state, called Alpha is to manifest things you want to have happen in your life. I will explain how to do that next time.

Abundance and your thoughts

You create your own reality according to Zen Buddhist masters.
According to researchers thoughts can be measured. That’s right, when you think, you are emitting a frequency. According to the Law of attraction mentioned in the book The Secret and many other books, you might want to consider being careful what it is you think about. The reason for that being that your thoughts are on a specific frequency and you attract similar frequencies back. Simply put, send out a negative thought and you get a negative result. Other way around and the more positive your life becomes.

Another positive thing is that scientific studies have shown that positive thoughts are a hundred times more powerful than negative ones. So even if you slip up and fall into negative thinking now and then, you can make up for it easily by thinking positively. If you are a positive thinker you attract positive circumstances. The better your can make yourself feel on a regular basis, by thinking positively, the more likely you are to attract abundance into your life. Use positive words in your daily speech, words have tremendous power and can make us shift the way we feel in an instant, both ways!

Do you dare to dream?

I have a villa in Tuscany. It is an old house, but it has been beautifully restored. It stands on a hill close to a small village with olive trees and vineyards growing all around. From my balcony I have a beautiful view of the gardens with the swimming pool as a focal point. I love to watch the sunset from there. On the ground floor the brand new kitchen has a large sitting area where the family gathers to exchange ideas and brainstorm, talk about our day and our adventures. On the terrace we had an outdoor pizza oven installed, the real thing and the kids are ecstatic!

The subconscious mind does not differentiate between fiction and reality! If you have a dream and are able to verbalize it with colorful descriptions and emotion, like when you tell a friend about an exciting event, your subconscious mind might actually believe that this is true for you. This is called creative visualisation, and it takes some practice! So keep dreaming and telling yourself about everything that you wish you had. Better yet, write your dream on a piece of paper and read it every day. Keep your description as vivid as possible, colors, people, sounds, smells and every detail you can possibly think of. Put a date on there, when are you planning of reaching this goal? Remember to put any of the strong positive feelings in there too and ALWAYS be grateful.

Your subconscious mind will then start noticing things in your environment that take you steps toward your dream. The tricky thing is to notice those hints and dare to act upon them! Another thing to keep in mind is that it takes the same effort to ask for 1 cent as it does for winning a million dollars, getting your dream job or staying in poverty or misery! It’s your choice, choose wisely.

The intensity of fear going around now is unprecedented. At this time and age, with the credit crisis bombarding everyone, people have a lot of fear. But there is another level of reality, be careful not to focus on your problems that only drag you down. Trying to stay positive can also be a real challenge. To achieve emotional freedom you have many options. I would like to mention two of them.

This method does wonders for all kinds of physical and emotional pains, fears and phobias alike and just about anything you can think of. I have personally tried EFT on myself with great results and I use every chance I get to recommend it. EFT was founded by Gary Craig, a wonderful human being, who is also a certified master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP, another way of changing your patterns of emotional and mental behaviour.

Affirmations for everything!

Being a positive thinker is a very good thing, however daily situations keep challenging us and it is easy to fall into the trap of complaining or emitting negative thoughts. One of the things I have learned to keep on track is to repeat affirmations daily.

An affirmation is a phrase you say to yourself that contains a positive statement that you would like to have happen in your life and you say it like it has already come true, in the present tense and with a lot of gratitude. When you have put this affirmation into your subconscious mind by repeating it many times over the course of the day and you add FEELING to it, it becomes alive.

According to the book Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill the strongest positive feelings are faith, love and sex! This book was originally published in 1937 and has been edited since, but the main content is still the same and I highly recommend it. It happens to be a favorite of mine.

One of my recent examples of using affirmations myself was to help me stop biting my fingernails. This has been an awful habit of mine for many years, but I decided to repeat to myself many times a day something like this: I have beautiful hands with long, strong, beautiful fingernails that I am proud of, and in three days I had stopped biting!

Try it on anything, put some faith in there and vividly imagine how the change would make you look, feel and act.

Do you feel in control of your life?

What you think about creates emotions within you and your emotions determine how you act, do they not?

If you tend to think about something negative, you will feel bad and your actions thereafter will not be beneficial to you or help you create a better life, generally speaking.

So, if you want more good things to come your way, I suggest to start thinking more positively.

A good way to do this is to keep small reminders all over your house and work space, even in your car. Small stickers that simply say: How do you feel? If the answear is a negative feeling, immediately change it by using positive words. Remember that you are the boss in this process and if you CHOOSE you can change any situation into a positive one. There is always a positive aspect you just have to learn how to find it!

Now, only changing a few random thoughts per day into positive thoughts is not going to do it if youre core BELIEFS are limiting to you. If you truly deep down inside believe that bad things always happen to you or you will never be able to get your dream job, partner, life or just about anything, this is forever going to stand in your way. But, the good news is that you can choose to change your limiting beliefs. This can be done with affirmations. Some of your beliefs might be dug deeper than others, in that case getting professional help is a good idea.

Positive thinking and your health

This site is for those who like me think that there can be more to life. Why are we here? Do we have some sort of obligation to live our life a certain way. How about if we want to create a better life now! Do you want everything money can buy? Or would you settle for joyful moments or moments of happiness with your family and friends? What if you could take some action to make all life better? Yours and others around you!

I have been taking this journey with my own life recently and I invite you to join me on an amazing discovery.

There are many ways of creating abundance in your life. A good place to start is to change the way you think! Most people generate about 60.000 thoughts per day and to no surprise most of them are negative thoughts. We simply tend to focus our attention on what we don't want in stead of what we DO want. It is possible and surprisingly easy to change your thoughts into positive thoughts, however it takes courage and willingness.
