I recently decided to relocate to Bali - at least for a while.

That came about after I attended a life changing event called Awesomenessfest 2013. This is a get together of entrepreneurs who, to be honest, want to change the world in one way or another. The experience was short of amazing and I felt so connected in Bali, that I decided I had to explore that connection further, so here I am with a child and a babysitter!

We arrived at our hotel at 4 pm after traveling from Copenhagen, 17 hours. We just made it out to dinner to order some Nasi goreng for me, and pizza for the kids. The Balinese cooking is delicious, much more impressive than their pizza. After dinner it was bedtime, way too early at 8 pm because we all woke up at 1 am and could not go back to sleep for hours.

Staying here is so peaceful, in spite of the traffic noise from the busy Monkey forest road in Ubud, and the traditional music that reaches us up to our third floor balcony. Here we sit and relax and enjoy the view. The swimming pool awaits our arrival, we explored it last night at dusk and the unknown sounds coming from the trees and the bushes had us rushing back to our room, the 5 year old was not impressed.

However, today, he says that he lives in a Castle and the Balinese Buddha elephantman statue is his favorite. The insects and birds get his undivided attention, as do the dozens of kites flying in the sky.

I made two new friends today. The first one, a young Balinese waiter at our hotel who wants to help us with everything. He drove me around the town today on his scooter, stopping at various places to make sure I got a sim card for my phone, some money exchanged and a good grocery store. People here amaze me with their kindness, friendliness and selfless attitude. I think us westerners could learn a thing or two from these people.

The other one is a like minded spirit from New Zealand. A woman, who much like me, enjoys traveling, studying and following her intuition - and her purpose in life. We had lots to talk about on the terrace. I have a feeling I'm going to like it very much here......it's Awesome

Your intuition will eventually get your attention

I have this perception about life, that it should be effortless, full of wonderful events and loving people. I should be doing something so fulfilling that I will never feel like I am working a day in my life. Is this being an optimist? Unreal? Utopian? To be honest, I don't know the correct word, but in spite of all the incidents that come into my life that I could chose to experience as negative, I still feel like this is what my life should be. Is this my intuition talking?

The way I am raised, I'm supposed to study, get a job, marry, have kids, pay my mortgage, be there for others, live up to expectations and always do the right thing. How do I know when I'm doing the right thing? The right thing according to who's standards? What if I all of a sudden realize that I'm living someone else's dream, not my own?

At that point, I make a decision to change my life. I quit my job, get divorced and move to a different country. I study different subjects - subjects of the mind this time, spiritual subjects, quantum physics. Questions start falling on me like heavy rainfall. Who am I? What is my purpose here? Why am I having this experience at this point in time? Why did I experience sadness, negativity or misfortune when I kept thinking positive and feeling love for all beings? What am I missing? What can I do differently to live MY dream?

Where does intuition fit into all this? I think I get it now, sitting in the sunshine, drinking my latte, watching the world go by. This wonderful feeling wells up inside that what I'm doing is exactly right. I mean, it must be! If it makes me feel this way by just sitting, watching, interacting, sending people love and acting out of kindness. Forget the shoulds, coulds, musts and buts. Forget the financial side of life, the mortgage, the job situation. If I feel this good on my own, without much money or a job, big house, fancy cars or a luxurious lifestyle, I am radiating calmness, joy and enthusiasm. It affects other people, it transcends through time and space, it speaks the language of the Universe and I know I am safe, I am at peace. I have found my purpose. I wish you would join me.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the brain to get the message that the stomach is full. Think about that for a minute. When we eat very fast like most of us do we eat more than we need and that means we put on weight.

If we slow down and we get the message that we are full, we stop eating. But it's not all that simple is it? To some people this habit of eating slow comes naturally and they take their time and enjoy their food. These people tend to be naturally slim. Some others tend to finish half of their plate before actually starting to taste the food! Are you one of these people?

If you are overweight and want to lose some, it might be a good idea to rethink how you think about food and eating altogether. Most of us have enough food, it's not limited so we don't really need to binge. However the majority of us do just that.

Here are a few reasons for slowing down:
* Better digestion
* Less quantity of food
* Weight loss
* More energy
* Less bloating
* More self esteem
* Learn self control
* Better overall health
* Lessens the risk of weight related health problems.

There are many more benefits from eating slowly. Changing your behavior can take some time, normally 30 to 40 days, but it can also completely change your life to the better. Try it for a week and see how you do!

Be careful not to be too hard on yourself if you slip up, just try better next time.
