I recently decided to relocate to Bali - at least for a while.
That came about after I attended a life changing event called Awesomenessfest 2013. This is a get together of entrepreneurs who, to be honest, want to change the world in one way or another. The experience was short of amazing and I felt so connected in Bali, that I decided I had to explore that connection further, so here I am with a child and a babysitter!

We arrived at our hotel at 4 pm after traveling from Copenhagen, 17 hours. We just made it out to dinner to order some Nasi goreng for me, and pizza for the kids. The Balinese cooking is delicious, much more impressive than their pizza. After dinner it was bedtime, way too early at 8 pm because we all woke up at 1 am and could not go back to sleep for hours.
Staying here is so peaceful, in spite of the traffic noise from the busy Monkey forest road in Ubud, and the traditional music that reaches us up to our third floor balcony. Here we sit and relax and enjoy the view. The swimming pool awaits our arrival, we explored it last night at dusk and the unknown sounds coming from the trees and the bushes had us rushing back to our room, the 5 year old was not impressed.
However, today, he says that he lives in a Castle and the Balinese Buddha elephantman statue is his favorite. The insects and birds get his undivided attention, as do the dozens of kites flying in the sky.
I made two new friends today. The first one, a young Balinese waiter at our hotel who wants to help us with everything. He drove me around the town today on his scooter, stopping at various places to make sure I got a sim card for my phone, some money exchanged and a good grocery store. People here amaze me with their kindness, friendliness and selfless attitude. I think us westerners could learn a thing or two from these people.
The other one is a like minded spirit from New Zealand. A woman, who much like me, enjoys traveling, studying and following her intuition - and her purpose in life. We had lots to talk about on the terrace. I have a feeling I'm going to like it very much here......it's Awesome
